A little Note From Natalie
Hello, I’m Natalie Cornes, a pattern designer from England.
Sewing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I learnt to sew from my mum when I was little, and I knew straight away I loved it. By the age of 9 or 10, I knew I wanted a career working with fabric and design. I originally thought I’d become a textile designer — I didn’t even know that clothing pattern design was a path you could take!
As I grew older, my love for clothes grew too, and I started making my own garments. I went on to study fashion design at university, where I discovered pattern cutting and fell in love with the technical side of sewing. That’s where I truly understood how the pieces of a garment come together, and I realised I could combine creativity with precision — something I’ve carried into every pattern I design today.
Now, as an indie pattern designer, I get the best of both worlds: I design patterns and use my technical skills, all while working with beautiful fabrics that inspire me.
I believe sewing is about more than just making things — it’s about creativity, mindfulness, and joy. Each project is an opportunity to slow down, enjoy the process, and make something that feels personal and timeless.
I also want sewing to be accessible to everyone. That’s why my patterns:
- Are beginner-friendly (with clear instructions)
- Include guidance on sizing, fabric choice, and seam allowance
- Give you freedom to customise and make the pattern your own
Who My Patterns Are For
- Beginners who want guidance they can trust
- Confident beginners looking to expand their skills
- Makers who love details, layering, and thoughtful finishing
- Anyone who wants a calm, enjoyable, and successful sewing experience
I also love sharing free resources, sewing tips, and video tutorials to make your projects even easier and more fun. You can find these in the sewing journal and on my YouTube channel.
Whether it’s your first project or your tenth, I want you to enjoy every stitch. Thank you for visiting.
I can’t wait to see what you create!
