General Questions
What level are your sewing patterns suitable for?
My sewing patterns all have difficulty ratings. The majority are aimed at beginners, confident/advanced beginners.
If you can sew a straight stitch and follow step-by-step instructions, you’ll be absolutely fine. Each pattern includes detailed instructions to guide you through the process.
See advice on difficulties - HERE
Are your patterns suitable for complete beginners?
Many of them are! I clearly state the difficulty level on each product listing so you can choose something that feels right for your skill level.
Do your patterns include seam allowance?
Not all of them — and this is intentional.
All of my Beginner patterns include seam allowance as standard, so you can focus purely on sewing and building confidence.
For more advanced patterns, seam allowance is sometimes left off the pattern pieces. This allows you to add your own preferred amount and gives you more flexibility when sewing.
If a pattern does not include seam allowance:
- It is made very clear in the guide
- You’ll see it clearly stated in the product listing
- I include dedicated instruction pages showing exactly where and how to add it
As a general rule, I recommend:
- 1cm seam allowance for most seams
- 2cm seam allowance if you’d like a little extra wiggle room for fitting or adjustments
You can always trim excess seam allowance down later — but you can’t add it back once it’s gone.
If you’d like a full guide on how to add seam allowance to a pattern, you can read my detailed blog post - HERE
What language are the patterns written in?
All patterns are written in English.
Printing
How do I print the pattern?
Each pattern includes a print-at-home file. Open the PDF using Adobe Acrobat (free) and print at 100% scale or “Actual Size.”
Extra printing help - HERE
How do I check that it has printed correctly?
Every pattern includes a test square. After printing, measure the test square to ensure it matches the size stated in the instructions before assembling your pattern.
Can I use a copy shop?
If your pattern includes an A0 copy shop file, yes — you can send that file directly to a print shop for large-format printing.
Do I need special paper?
No — standard A4 paper works perfectly for print-at-home files.
Patterns
What sizes do your patterns include?
The size range is listed clearly on each pattern’s product page. Please check the size chart before purchasing to ensure the best fit.
Where can I find the size chart?
The size chart is included in the product listing and inside the pattern instructions.
What if I’m between sizes?
I usually recommend choosing based on your largest measurement and adjusting for fit as needed. Many patterns can be easily customised for length or fit, I include adjustment sections in most of my clothing guides.
What fabric should I use?
Each pattern includes a suggested fabric list. You can find this in the listing and in the guide once downloaded. Choosing the right fabric will make a big difference in how your finished piece looks and feels.
Digital Downloads
Is this a physical product?
No — all patterns are digital PDF downloads. Nothing will be posted to you.
How do I receive my pattern?
Once your purchase is complete, you will receive an email with a download link.
I can’t find my download email — what should I do?
Please check your spam or junk folder first. If it’s still missing, contact me with your order number and I’ll happily help.
Can I get a refund on a digital pattern?
Due to the nature of digital products, refunds cannot be offered once the file has been purchased and sent.
If you experience any issues, please get in touch — I’m always happy to help resolve problems.

How many times can I download my pattern?
You can download your files multiple times, but I recommend saving them safely to your device and backing them up once downloaded.
Video Tutorials
Do your sewing patterns include video tutorials?
Many of my patterns include a step-by-step YouTube video tutorial to guide you through the process alongside the written instructions.
See my YouTube channel - HERE
Where can I find the video tutorial?
The tutorial link is included:
- In the product listing
- Inside the PDF guide
- On my YouTube channel
You’ll find the direct link clearly written in your pattern instructions, so you can easily follow along as you sew.
Are the video tutorials free?
Yes — all tutorial videos are completely free to watch on YouTube.
Do I have to watch the video to complete the pattern?
Not at all. The written instructions are fully detailed and designed to stand on their own.
The videos are there as an extra layer of guidance if you prefer to see each step demonstrated.
I can’t find the tutorial link — what should I do?
First, check the pattern instructions carefully — the link is usually included on the first page of the guide.
If you’re still unsure, send me a message, and I’ll happily point you in the right direction.

Technical Help
The pattern won’t open — what should I do?
Make sure you’re opening the file using an up-to-date PDF reader like Adobe Acrobat. Try downloading the file again if needed.
I printed the pattern, but it’s the wrong size.
Double-check that your printer settings are set to:
- Scale: 100%
- Actual Size
- No “Fit to Page”
Reprint the test square first before printing all pages again.
I’m stuck on a step — can you help?
Of course. Sewing should feel enjoyable, not stressful. Send me a message with the pattern name and the step you’re stuck on, and I’ll do my best to guide you through it.
