Fabric Recomendations

Recommended Fabrics:

This pattern works best with woven, non-stretch fabrics.

  • Cotton poplin
  • Cotton lawn
  • Linen or linen blends
  • Viscose/rayon challis
  • Lightweight twill
  • Tencel
  • Silk blends
  • Velvet (for dramatic versions)
  • Lace (for ruffles or overlays)

Fabrics to Avoid:

  • Stretch fabrics (jersey, rib knit)
  • Very thick upholstery fabrics
  • Heavy denim
  • Extremely stiff canvases

These can distort gathers, affect fit, and make zipper insertion difficult.
