  • Cotton poplin
  • Linen or linen blends
  • Cotton canvas (light–medium weight)
  • Cotton twill

For a softer look, choose lighter cottons. For more protection, choose canvas or twill.

Fabrics to Avoid

  • Stretch fabrics (jersey, rib knit)
  • Very thick upholstery fabrics
  • Slippery satins or silks
  • Fabrics with heavy pile (velvet, faux fur)

These can distort quilting.
